White Winters!

Hi All!!

Don't I feel like an Indian actress standing in the snow with severely inadequate clothes, looking all comfortable and happy while my innards freeze slowly. The cold aside, who doesn't like the look of fresh white snow? It makes every color pop.And it doesn't really snow much here in Beaverton, so it was a welcome change from the mundane dampness that accompanies the dull winter here.

Now, about the dress. I get crazy about plum and burgundy shades this season. It works fabulously with almost every neutral piece of clothing or accessory. I have had this animal print coat for years but I love it so much that I never wear it. That is my way with all my favorite pieces. For the fear of ruining them, I don't wear them at all. I wonder if that is what you all do too.

Anyway, what with my cold feet, and I mean that literally, I forgot to take close-ups altogether. You can obviously neither see the texture of the dress nor the necklace. I was actually hesitant to post it altogether but I worked too hard to just leave it alone. Although, the dress is still available on the store website, so yippie! You can check it out in detail.

Black Winters!

Hi All!

First, I apologize for being the laziest, tardiest blogger ever. It was so cold these last few months that I could not bear to stand out and take pictures and although that is no excuse, I will use that to save face. Truth is, the lack of sunshine in Oregon makes me utterly depressed. I feel so low on energy on these damp and murky days, it is really tough to bring myself to pose for photographs or write about anything. I have started taking vitamin D supplements now to cure this mental lethargy and I hope I soon get over my uselessness. I also really hope that you all continue reading about my fashion escapades.

And now coming the subject at hand, shopping! I shopped a lot recently - from tops to dresses to coats to accessories. While some have dug a crater in my pocket, others were surprisingly great bargains. Topping the bargain list is a BCBG gown originally priced at $368, for which I had to pay just $20! Will tell you all about it as soon as it is barely warm enough to wear a strapless number. For now, I am thoroughly enjoying this $30 H&M overcoat. At this price, it couldn't have been more comfortable and low-maintenance.  I have been wearing it almost every single day since I bought it. Also, true for this bag that I got at an almost seventy percent discount. It has been difficult to find good vegan handbags so when once in a while when I do spot a fairly good one, I don't let it go.

Here are some pictures.
