Romantically Blue

As a tween, once, I begged my parents to buy me a pair of skinny jeans. It wasn't like the super skinny jeans of today but just a pair of narrow fit jeans which looked dapper especially with folded cuffs. At the time, I lived in a tiny town with few shops most of which were unaware that such a thing existed. With great difficulty, they managed to find me a pair. It didn't fit me and looked nothing like the jeans that I had seen on television. Worse still, a month later, skinny jeans were out and boot-cuts were in. I was a kid and people's opinions mattered. I never really got a chance to flaunt my fake skinny Levis.

Now I am an adult and only wear outfits that make me feel good. I still love skinny jeans and have pairs that fit me well. So, it doesn't matter whether those are en vogue or not.  But ever since that jean-fiasco, I have been wary of fickle fads.

Although one should wear everything one wants to, without any fear of judgment, consider yourself lucky if you find your personal style. A style that you can don confidently without worrying what "fashion experts" say about it. A style that is immune to transient trends because it makes you feel beautiful. If you have found your personal style, whether it be LBDs with stilettos or sweatpants with flip-flops, you have one aspect of your life figured out.

If there is one thing that makes me feel glam and sweet and pretty, it is cotton off-shoulder dress/top. I have never seen a girl not look utterly beautiful with bare shoulders, and that includes my humble self. I bought this J. Crew dress on sale this summer and it has been my absolute favorite ever since. I am so sad that fall is almost upon us and I will have to put this dress away and add the weight of wool to my shoulders.
