It's the start of a dark, wet, somewhat depressing winter here in Oregon. And I am a sun person. If I don't see the sun for a couple of days, I feel suicidal and I say that in the most literal sense of the word. Just ask my husband. So what I do to beat those blues is read children's literature, watch comedy shows, dance a little (even if I am alone) and eat my favorite foods. Another effective way I have learned to make myself feel better is to play dress up.
So when there was a little sun and unusually warm a few days ago, I slipped into my most summery clothes - a pair of sailor shorts and a flared sleeve crop top. They always brighten my mood! This is my second pair of sailor shorts and they are so comfy I could sleep in them. Surprisingly, I like high waisted pants and shorts better than the low waisted ones. I know most people feel the latter are more comfortable but I guess it depends on a person's shape and taste. Anyway, my philosophy is to wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable and/or the most happy. The "or" is an absolutely vital word for if you have ever worn high heels you have experienced the immense joy those painful skyscrapers bring.
So I hope you like this outfit and you too find your own way to cheer yourself up when those bits of gloom start hovering over your lovely heart!
