Equestrian Inspirations

Who says you need to be a horse rider to dress up like one?

While one can go all out with the equestrian theme, I fused it with some regular, old pieces. First of all, I ditched the boots for a pair of dainty pumps. I have been loving these new pumps so much that I chose to wear them for two posts in a row (check the other post here)! Second of all, I went with more formal J.Crew pants and a matching scarf. Therefore, although the outfit reminds one of the intended theme, it can still be worn to the office or to a formal lunch. And at the very last, I went with oversized studs, a side bun and bright red lips and nails.

The next time, I might go for the whole thing, complete with boots, hat and everything, maybe... sans the whip (well, I am not really a whip person).

Hope you liked the outfit! Let us know how you would work this theme. Drop your ideas in the comment box.

Yellow Pumps!

It has been so long since I wore yellow! The last time was this dress I guess (link here). I don't know why I don't buy or wear this color more often when I actually love it. The color looks even better in spring when there are equally bright colors all around.

I am usually not happy about buying shoes online. They are not always the most comfortable things and my past experiences have done nothing but reaffirm this notion. But I have been pleasantly surprised by how comfortable these shoes are. Also, they were super cheap. They costed just around $15 with some first time purchase discount on ShoeDazzle.

The denim crop top and jeggings are both from Abercrombie and because I had a lot of rugged denim on already, I decided to add some structure with this bright blue blazer. The fringed back pack from Victoria's Secret was free with some other purchase and I love it! It goes so well with casuals and I feel that it adds a playful look to even the most formal outfits.

Sweet Spring!

A spring afternoon calls for a  romantic, playful dress!

I love empire-waist dresses and this is one of my favorites. The tiny polka dots make it look chic but also give it a vintage look. And I also love how the hemlines and necklines are flirty yet classy, while this old belt with the bow adds the "cute" factor. By the way, I am so crazy about belts right now that I bought two more this weekend and I am on the lookout for more.

The other thing that I am looking forward to is a white crossbody bag from Matt & Nat or Jill Milan. They both make great vegan leather bags and the quality of the bags is amazing. I bought a black parabole bag from Matt and Nat recently and both the material and the make are really fine. So, a white one is due for purchase. Till then, this clutch will have to do!
