From His Wardrobe

Hello Friends!

With men inspired clothing being more and more in vogue every year, it is apparent that the lines between "his" and "her" closets are blurring. It is the time when girls can happily steal shirts and watches from their dads, brothers, boyfriends and husbands.

Growing up I was always fascinated more by my dad's wardrobe than my mom's. I used to borrow a lot of his t-shirts, shirts, sweaters and jackets to pair with my jeans and skirts ("borrow" of course means take something and never give it back!!). Now, I do the same with my husband.

Wearing clothes and accessories borrowed from men is like killing two birds with one stone.. you expand your wardrobe without having to spend money shopping and of course you make his clothes look pretty for once!

The easiest items that can make way from a man's wardrobe to yours are shirts and watches.

Shirt Steal
  1. Color - Pick any color. There is no color that would not look good on a girl if it does on a guy!
  2. Prints - Try staying away from large checks and broad/horizontal stripes as they add volume to an already over-sized shirt.
  3. Accessories - Minimalism is the word! Over accessorizing is always a mistake, especially this season. Try wearing just one or two cheerful accessories to bind the look together and add some color.
  4. Pair It - Wear the shirt with playful skirts, fitted jeans or colorful ankle length trousers

 How I Wore It

This weekend I wore my husband's shirt to a casual lunch and paired it with a denim skirt and white pumps. For a pop of color I added a bohemian scarf-belt and my favorite mandarin lip stain. Finally strapped a white and gold watch to complete the look.
Since evenings are a bit chilly, I also carried a thin jacket (the last picture).

  1. Wow I love the look! I'd never even have guessed this is your husband's shirt, it fits you great. It goes really well with that skirt too. :)
